Running Friday, September 25, 2009 |

I am not going to lie, running is hard, at least for me. However, I cannot not run unless it is hard, that is why I push and I push until am beat. If I am not tired and sweat is not running from my brow then it is just not worth it. I would like to challenge everyone who says they can’t run, that is what I said too. A good friend of mine once told me about a program from www.runnerworld.com and it is spectacular. They have a number of programs, but under the beginners section that is geared to take a person that has never run to be able to run a 5K. Now with the success of the program, I now am running 2.6 miles in 30 minutes and every couple of days I will increases my speed. I will be more than ready for my five K in October. I am running the Race for the Cure on October 11th, my very first race. To check out the program visit the website if you want to give it a whirl, runners world.

End of the Summer berries Friday, September 18, 2009 |

Here is a new recipe that I tried last night and it received 5 stars from the two other members of my household so I decided to share.

What you need:

2 containers (6 oz. each) nonfat strawberry yogurt (1-1/2 cups total), I used Non-fat White chocolate strawberry

1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Sugar Free Gelatin

3/4 cup thawed COOL WHIP LITE Whipped Topping
1 cup each: blueberries, raspberries and sliced fresh strawberries
6 OREO Cookies, chopped

Make it:

MIX
yogurt and dry gelatin mix in medium bowl until well blended.

ADD whipped topping; stir with wire whisk until well blended.

SPOON layers of yogurt mixture, berries and chopped cookies alternately into each of six dessert dishes. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

ENJOY!!!

Is this for real?!?!? Wednesday, September 16, 2009 |

This may look like a nice jumper from the 80s, but don’t be fooled, this is the swim wear of choice for the Dugger Family from 18 kids and counting. I could not help but laugh, and I mean belly laugh at the most recent episode when the girls were sliding down a “redneck” slip n’ slide in these swim jumpers. I secretly love this show because appreciate their values and simplicity, but I can’t help but mock some of their choices. When a 12 year old states of cable TV that they order these swim suits especially because they are a fashionable choice, my heart hurt for her!!! However, if you are in the market for a very modest swimsuit, check out wholesome swimwear.

What 's in a Name? Tuesday, September 15, 2009 |

I bet all of you are wondering where such a strange name for the new blog came from? For where did it originate? Well to put all of your minds at ease, with the loss of the fabulous, yet not so accessible joshandshanna blog we now have the one that you are reading. My husband, as creative as he is, without my consent took his middle name and mine to create www.edwardandlynn.blogspot.com. It is very unique, I will give him that. Now you will all be able to sleep tonight or nap depending on when you read this post. Won't it be interesting what we name other important future things that need names!! Don't get your hopes up yet, we are too busy for that!!

Wow, I totally forgot we had a blog! Sunday, September 13, 2009 |

Just kidding!! I think that the best way to describe the way that I feel about the blog is that I have had a lack of motivation to write. I know that Josh has done a good job posting on the blog, but even he has grown apart from the blog. Well despite this lack of motivation, I have now realized how much I have missed being apart of the blogging community, I feel that I am doing an injustice to the world not to share my thoughts, updates on our life and of course Beckett!

Josh and I have really not been up to all that much over the last couple of months, but we are not completely lame!! We have had a new addition to our family! No not a child, but my sister has joined us down in the desert!! It is so fabulous to have her here. She is probably getting tired of me, but I know that my children have grown rather fond of her. I think that she is affectionately know as, "Trinie the pet masseuse."

A couple of weeks ago Josh's mom and her husband came down down for several days. We spent time in the pool, went to Gerome, ate fabulous food and of course played with Beckett. It was a very good time!!

Josh and I are both still in school very busy with home work and also working. We are both working full time so life is kind of busy at times. But for all of you who are wondering, we still are in love!

Over the last couple of years I have been into running off and on, but for the first time I am really starting to enjoy it. By the encouragement of a friend from work, I am now ready and have signed up for my first race. On October 11, I will be lacing up my running sneakers with hundreds of fellow running comrades for a 5K, for the race for the cure. I am so excited for this new adventure. I am also praying that I will not get shin splints!!

I do however have a new endeavor that I am ready to embark on. I am ready to maintain and publish a blog that is new, exciting and worth while for those who are ready to embrace it. I guess that you will just have to check back and see what is new and exciting with the Myers Family of Two.
